The Hasselblad-Experience

Posted on Monday, April 8, 2013 by in Blog2, Uncategorized |

So following the shock of shooting such an excessive amount of photos during my Vietnam assignment, I tried something completely different this weekend: I went for a walk, carrying “only” a Hasselblad 500C with an 80mm lens and a light meter. The change was dramatic: Within 2 hours of wandering the streets of Berlin, I took 4 (four!) photos. Taking a light meter reading, adjusting shutter and aperture, focussing with the built-in loupe, framing the shot with the waist-level finder, only 12 frames per roll of film — it was an almost meditative experience. I was forced to slow down and REALLY think about every frame. I highly recommend it to anyone shooting digital!
