Seeing the forest for the trees
In a busy place like Berlin, it’s very easy to overlook great photo opportunities. There is simply always something bigger, brighter or louder that will grab your attention. Yet it’s often the smaller, quiet things that are really unique and charming. This ground floor façade of an apartment building in a residential neighborhood in Berlin is an example of that (in my humble opinion). So how do you make sure you don’t miss things that are worth photographing? Keep your eyes open. Don’t just focus on the obvious. Once you’ve seen the obvious photo, look around to see what you’ve missed. That may sound trivial but is quite difficult. Trust me, I’m still struggling to do it all the time.
